Tholpetty Wildlife
Tholpetty Wildlife Sanctuary is a popular wildlife sanctuary in Wayanad. One of the memorable experiences is night camping.The watch tower of this sanctuary is situated above the lake and is the main water source to animals.





Karapuzha dam
The fresh water lake nested above wooded hills, is the only one of its kind in Kerala. It is one of Wayanad's top visitor draws






Muthanga wildlife sanctuary

Wild forests covering an area of 345 sq.kms. from the Muthanga Wild Life Sanctuary; the biggest abode of wild animals in Malabar. The Forest Department has facilities for providing elephant rides to tourists here.






Lakkadi Hillstation
It is referred to as the ‘Gateway of Wayanad’, Lakkidi is a hill station and a famous tourist attraction in Kerala. This small town is used as a jump off point for exploring the entire Wayanad Tourism. Lakkidi is popular for its mountain peaks, dense forests, beautiful streams and other aquatic features. This area receives the second highest amount of rain in the world.




Kuruva Island
Kuruvadweep is almost 950-acre protected delta on the Kabini River in the Wayanad district of Kerala, India.This island is dense and an evergreen forest which is uninhabited and hence a home to rare kinds of flora and fauna: uncommon species of birds, orchids and herbs namely




Soochipara Waterfalls
It is Sentinel Rock Waterfalls and is also known locally as Soochipara,It is located at Vellarimala village. exactly as in Meenmutty, here also the water cascades down in steps of 3 from a height of 200m. This is well known picnic spot and trekking area. The Sentinel Rock is ideal for rock climbing




Banasura Dam
It is located 21 km from Kalpetta. It is the largest earthen dam in India and the second largest in Asia. It is created by Karamanathodu tributary of Kabini River. Its Construction started in 1979, with the necessity to support the Kakkayam Hydro-Electric Project, and to meet the irrigation and livelihood water requirements of the people .





Edakkal Caves
The Edakkal Cave is located at 25 km from Kalpetta.It is a 96 ft long, 22 ft wide and 30ft high cleft formed by the vertical split of a mountain. A gigantic rock of enormous size fell into this crevice, forming a large roof over a large part of it, which gives it the impression of a cave.




Pookode Lake
Pookode is a natural fresh water lake nestling evergreen forests and mountain slopes at a height of 2100 meters above sea level and has an area of 13 acre and is 40 meter deep. It is 15 km away from Kalpetta.The lake resembles the shape of Indian map. This perennial fresh water lake, nestled among wooded hills, is only one of its kinds in Kerala.





Meenmutty waterfalls
An interesting 2 km jungle trek off the main Ooty Road, Meenmutty is the
largest and most spectacular waterfall in Wayanad. A unique feature is that water drops about 300 metres over three stages






Thirunelli temple
The Temple is located at an altitude of about 900m in north Wayanad in a valley surrounded by mountains and beautiful forests. It is situated 32 km away from Manathavady






Bird sanctuary
Location:7 km northeast of Thirunelli , which is about 32 km from Mananthavady, and about 66 km from Kalpetta, Altitude: 1740m above sea level.






Chain tree
This large Ficus tree, bound by a prominent chain is an interesting excursion, approximately 15 kms. from Kalpetta. It is believed that a priest chained the troublesome spirit onto this tree and hence name the Chain tree.





Pazhassi Raja tomb
One of the earliest to strike the banner of revolt against the British overlordship in this part of India, Pazhassi Raja took refuge in the Wayanad hills, and resorted to classic techniques of guerrilla warfare against the superior British force
