Jainism came to Kerala on 3 rd century BC.The downfall of jain believers in Kerala started during the 8th century onwards and by the 16th century it had almost disappeared. there are some jain temples or remanants of it ,remain, notably in Jainamedu in Palakkad, and in Sultan Battery in Wynad. Tipu's raides also destroyed Many jain temples
